Talk:Who Do We Want Here Next Year
From RCC 2007
Instead of starting two lists how can this be merged with the Yahoogroups convener's list? To what degree do people want their name or email on a web site, however kind the intention? Can there be a blind sign up list? Kristin 18:47, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- The point of this page is to offer an easy way to collect names of people attendees wish could have been here. Not everyone knows about the Yahoogroup's convener's list -- this is the first I heard of it. In a few months activity on the Wiki will come to an end, & at that time we can move this page (or its contents) to a better location; best to do something right now, even if it's wrong. -- GeoffBurling 22:15, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- Kristin, this is a very different list from the convenor's list - as Geoff said, this is about people to invite; the mailing list is about people who want a place to discuss RecentChangesCamp (especially across events i'm thinking). Re putting people's names here, i think if they're already on the web then they are public already, so i don't see the harm in that. Re the wiki, Brandon CS Sanders intends to merge this into a general RecentChangesCamp wiki, with separate namespaces only for event-specific pages. --John Abbe 06:55, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- Also, I would imagine, nearly all of these people have public identities. I do understand what you are saying though Kristen. MarkDilley
