I live in Portland Oregon, attended WikiSym2005, and am one of the Co-Conveners of RecentChangesCamp. I guess you could call me a collaboration enthusiast. Some of my friends call me a process monster. For more info about me visit my portal page or drop me a note on my talk page.

Planning to attend: RoCoCo!!

I'm interested in group process and decision making. I believe something like Consensus Polling can make a huge difference in the decision making efficiency of a large diverse community. Consensus Polling is for moving quickly from "Hey we have a mess here!" to "We're committed to a solution that we all feel good about."

I recently joined AboutUs, an open source wiki startup that is trying to bring the editable web to the "rest of the world."

Topics I'd like to explore at RCC

  • Cybernetic Roadmap ... Mapping out what should happen as technology evolves; focus on why it's important and how it is good for "The Body of All Life"
    • Universal Actions ... I'd like to be able to easily associate actions that occur in different places on the Internet to a single consistent (cross-site) [[Identity]
    • Unified Actions ... All the things that you can do online fitting into a single framework upon which Reputation can be easily layered
    • One Big Soup ... Connecting blogs, wikis, forums, email, chat, galleries, etc so that it is easy to mash them up
    • Identity ... OpenID, iNames, federated identity in general and Single Signon
    • Reputation ... Creating an online approximation of "Whuffie"
    • Simultaneous Editing ... more than one person editing the same document at the same time
    • Disconnected Collaboration ... working on your wiki, email, etc even while on the plane or in a cabin in Alaska ... synching automatically
  • Consensus Polling ... Agile decision-making and collective intelligence for large groups
  • OGuild ... Bringing the "Open Guild" into existence
  • SolSeed ... Creating possibilities for the "Body of All Life"
